According to a recent study published in the British medical Journal Lancet, the bottom socio-economic one third of the British population is measurably healthier than the top socio-economic one third of Americans. The reason? Chronic stress.
The American Psychological Association’s recent survey showed that 74% of American workers are suffering a significant degree of stress-related ill health; over half of them seriously considered leaving their jobs because of stress.
What does stress create?
- You can’t get through that afternoon “energy slump” without resorting to caffeine or sugar.
- No matter how much you sleep, you can’t shake that crushing feeling of fatigue when you get up in the morning.
- When you look at the mirror, you see a drawn, tired face.
- Your sex drive isn’t what it once was.
- You find yourself taking much more time to recover from even minor illnesses or injuries.
